Brave

So, i took my eldest to the cinema tonight with her cousin to see Brave. She is a huge fan of all things princessy but also quite a tomboy. She loves pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones and her favourite thing of all is Doctor Who (wonder where she gets it from hey?!).

So Brave was Perfect. Just the right balance of Girly and Action for her (and me!!!). She oohed and aahed in all the right places and walked out of the little cinema in awe!

And i walked out inspired. I had seen the wisps and HAD to make me one.

So..... Here he is.

Not strictly the same but it is hard to sew a flickery misty flamey thing. I think i captured him quite well and he has little arms.

I am also going to have to make another one (or two once my eldest sees him) as my niece has swiped him!!

Christmas come Early!

Ok, so i am a big kid. Like HUGE kid. I get more excited about Christmas than normal people and could probably compete with my kids. All 3 of them. So on that note, i started with my christmas decoration ideas ages ago, but i have been so busy making things and meeting commission deadlines that i haven't had time to make any.

This week is a little quieter than usual because i left gaps for personal time with it being the last week of the school holidays.
And on the evenings, i have been making some decorations.

Here are the first four: Rudolph, Pudding, Robin and Star

And this is the stocking. Unfortunately, hubby won't let me have the tree out yet (i admit it is a little early so i had to bodge one out of a pipe cleaner pack

I am hoping to get time to make an angel, snowflake, bell and gingerbread man (i already made a larger ginger bread man but this will be a hanger). I have also ordered some stripy red material to try out a candy cane idea i have had.

Any other suggestions are welcome and I will try almost anything...  Next up... Real Stockings and maybe even some Bunting!

till next time

Let's start at the very beginning x

Well, hi.

I am Ruth, the owner / designer / creator of Sew Cuddlie Creations and i spend my time making cuddlie animals, tee-shirt designs and other various sewn items. I am the mother of three beautiful children and this is where my idea started. My middle child (you'll get to know them as we go along) wanted a toy dinosaur so i got out my sewing machine and made one.... and it hasn't gone away since. In just over 3 months, i have received and created many orders and now run quite successfully in my spare time.

I will let you in on a few secrets along the way, and share my makes, mistakes and eureka moments with you on my journey and hopefully keep you entertained. I will also share some of my favourite businesses e.t.c with you and try my best to answer any questions you may have.

But for now,

Adieu, Good Night and Adios from me
